In the year 2024, for Pongal Festival 2024 an order has been issued for procurement of 1.68 crore sarees and 1.63 crore dhoties fordistribution to the beneficiaries. For this scheme, the Government have sanctioned Rs.621.07 crore vide G.O. (Ms.) No. 151, Handlooms and Textiles (D2) Department, dated 13.07.2023 for the financial year 2023-2024.
